To keep your porcelain veneers looking brand new, you must keep practicing good oral hygiene at home. Brush your teeth twice a day and floss before you go to bed at night. Porcelain is naturally resistant to stains, but avoiding foods that can discolor your teeth, such as those with dyes, tomatoes, coffee, tea, and red wine, is wise. It’s OK to enjoy these foods and beverages. Just brush your teeth afterward. Tobacco usage also stains your teeth, so we recommend avoiding tobacco. Equally important, avoid habits like biting your nails or chewing on hard objects and food. These can all damage your veneers. Be sure to visit your dentist at least every six months for regular checkups.
